The new series, comprise vintage photographs dating back to 1873 of buildings that haven’t survived, but are now given new life. They are long forgotten fully restored photographs sourced from the State Library of Victoria. The discovery and salvage of vintage images of historic buildings offer the viewer a logical connection to Universita’s modern work.
The State Library of Victoria has served as the resource for the series but what Universita brings forth in his lifelong series, remains his crowning achievement. A Valuable modern record and an original interpretation of the ever-changing Australian urban landscape.
